My good deeds for the day

I get on the subway, and the twitchy man sitting across from me holds up a picture and says, "Hey, hey, how do I get here? I want to go here." It's the public library, no prob. I tell him.

He then gets up, leaves the train, approaches a cop and asks him the same question. Gets the same answer. As my train pulls out I see him going up to another person.

I get off, coincidentally, at the public library to drop my books off (I'm reading my way through the Anita Blake series, Oh! such junk food!); as I'm walking west down the sidewalk afterwards an old man beside me says "Mass General this way?"

I turn and point in the other direction, east-north-east. "Actually, ah, it's this way. You'd probably be better off taking the T."

"Oh, naw, naw, I felt like walking. About how far is it?"

"Er, a mile, maybe two?"

"OH!" And he sets off at a trot for the stairs to the subway.

Oy. Just call me Pathfinder.
