Things I've Been Enjoying Lately
Apr. 17th, 2009 02:11 pm1) Lunch hour is now Classics Hour thanks to an empty office and a copy of Godzilla:Final Wars. GFW asks some of the universal questions that are found in all great works of art, like "Can a plucky journalist expose sinister aliens with the help of her bulldog?", "When did a giant lizard learn to play soccer?", "Sociopolitically, what does it mean when the mentor/badass father figure looks like Joseph Stalin with a katana?", and most importantly of all, "HOW DUMB DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO LIVE IN A CITY IN THE GODZILLAVERSE?"
2) Not to pat myself on the back, but Cooking Night went really well this week! We made mini quiches and had chocolate chocolate chip banana bread for dessert. I think I'm finally getting the hang of this 'designing a menu for vegetarians' thing. (Hint: CHEESE or CHOCOLATE).
3) I got the character sheet for the next larp, and the four musical numbers I'm expected to do! Two are fairly straightforward, but the other two...hooboy. I keep thinking things like "Maybe if I teach myself accordion really fast...or completely redo the melody...or hire a rhythm section..." Erg.
