Hey, remember my complaint about the herbal concoction? Guess what! I discovered something that tastes even worse!
It's the herbal concoction with honey. God. It's rotten bog, but a sweet one. With a sorta viscous texture that...I should probably stop right here.
Especially since I'm about to get all self-promotional! This weekend I'm doing four shows! Four different shows! In three days! You'd have to be a fool to try something like this!
Hey, Boston and North Shore folks: Friday and Saturday night I'll be jesting, juggling and....jire eating? hmm, no, that doesn't work....at King Henry's Feast (www.pastimes1.com) up in Saugus! There's actually a good chance that the real Will Somers will rise from his grave and slap me for what I'll be doing in his name, so bring your cameras. (And did I mention fire eating? Bring your aloe.)
Hey, CT and even NYC folks! Saturday during the day I'll be jesting with the Phoenix Swords crew at the ISD Renaissance Faire over in Greenwich, CT! (www.isdrenaissance.com/home.html)
mythfish and I will be bringing our special brand of improv comedy to blight liven up the day. You'll laugh, you'll stare, you'll feel pity!
Hey, western MA folks! Sunday during the day it's the Pioneer Valley Renaissance Faire! MORE comedy! A Wench War* (whatever that'll be), magic, shopping, all on the Amherst Town Common! (ww.sismoon.com/pvrf.htm)
And y'know....as these shows loom closer I'm nervous, and I expected that, but I'm also *excited* about them. It's the hardest I've pushed myself since the October weekends at the Haunted Castle, and I'm still surprised when I remember some of the things that came out of my mouth back then. I can already feel my brain, well, it's hard to describe, but it feels like it's _spinning_, somehow.
Of course, that might be a side-effect of the honeyed bogwater.
*Disclaimer: Oakenguy will not be directly participating in the Wench War, due to a provision in the Treaty of Moresca, 1999

Date: 2005-06-09 08:35 pm (UTC)Thngs that might help: If you're allowed to drink it cold, cold things generally have a milder flavor than hot. I'm guessing you're not, but I thought I'd mention it. Don't add salt unless you're *sure* it would help - salt is a flavor intensifier. (So is sacharine, but I can't imagine you adding that. Or, you know, MSG.) If you're allowed to mix it with anything, and you don't share Deb's general dairy-suspicions, I have found that a lot of herbal things taste better mixed with milk than with water, or with some added milk. Some horrible things taste better if you brew them with peppermint tea. As for the texture, maybe you could put it in a bowl with sliced mushrooms (shitake by preference) and call it soup instead of a beverage....
Good luck, anyhow. I hope it *helps,* is the main thing.

Date: 2005-06-10 01:15 am (UTC)Well, sorta. I do think one called the other a wench at one point. But they were definitely fighting, that's for sure. And it was oddly compelling to watch. You couldn't turn away.
