(no subject)

Yesterday I put in a full day of work, snagged dry ice and gel-packs and padded envelopes, got six orders of truffles ready for shipping, and still had time to wander around the South End with D and [livejournal.com profile] discojesus! We discovered the bizarre wonder of a chocolate calzone with homemade vanilla ice cream.

I feel so accomplished. I even had time to discover that dry ice burnsssss, precious, yes it does, and when placed in a damp spoon it does a little rattly dance. Had a brief urge to fill up a jack o'lantern with some and bike through the neighborhood at night all headless horseman-y, but a) no jack o'lantern and b) I'm not so good at riding around one-handed.

[livejournal.com profile] discojesus, for the record, is a hoot to be around. Soft-spoken, wry, and tolerant of small dogs and slightly spacey hosts. And I'm not just saying that because he'll be living right down the street and D will probably forget to get our house keys back from him.

there is a dry ice business up near here and we always get some for halloween...i love dry ice.

See you tomorrow :) hehe

...oh! You guys live in/near Boston! I met a super nice lady at that Amma thing who just moved there to work with some group that has to do with environmental education, and is now temporarily stuck living with her sister's family and a baby that never sleeps. Any ideas/leads on a decent place for her to live? I think she'd be quiet and on the modest and spiritual side, not a major party babe, maybe going to do some graduate work now on environmental stuff plus educating teens about it...

For the record, she told me to hang on to the keys. ;) Something about feeding the monster if you guys are away, or something like that that I didn't quite understand.
