(no subject)

All the faculty rooms on this floor have had big ol' whompin' sound systems installed, with wall-mounted speakers, sub-woofers*, the works.

I just bought the special edition 'Stop Making Sense', with seven previously unreleased live tracks.

I have a key that gets me into the faculty rooms.

The week's looking up.

*I don't even know what a subwoofer is. But I like the name.

Subwoofer

A subwoofer is the part of a stereo system which really gets that deep, bone vibrating bass going through you. If you've ever driven or walked by a car blaring music that makes your car feel like it's going 'WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP', you know what I'm talking about. :)

the sad thing is that you can hear the music from that car better than the occupants. sub-bass has a wavelength ranging from 6 feet to 36 feet.
That's right, you have to be 36 feet away from that car to hear the lowest notes. why bother having one in there?

My roomie says a subwoofer is a submarine trained dog.
I say it's a big speaker, usually placed on the floor or beneath things that is devoted solely to making the bass bigger.

Talking Heads at a million DB through a Bose sound system. *bliss*

Are the live tracks integrated into the film itself, perchance? Regardless, I think I've just found a new item for my Christmas list..! :^)

I'm happy to say that the tracks are all in the proper order, making it so close to the film that it seems odd for them not to have pauses while new band members come out. :)
