I've just started to think about tomorrow, about The Anniversary.

I really can't think of an appropriate response. My school is having a minute of silence (at 10:28, which seems a little random) and an evening service that will consist of "moments of silence, reflections on hope and healing by staff members, and musical presentations." Wild horses could not drag me to this. I've seen what happens when our staff members try to reflect, and it's not pretty.

At heart tomorrow's the one day of the year I want to *not* feel snarky. Which means I'm turning Luddite: no tv, radio, internet. If I could stay home I would. It's a day for friends and quiet and small acts of kindness.

Oh, definitely. TV/radio ban good. I'm probably going to stick to email and not go to any of my discussion groups, and CERTAINLY not to the news.

Maybe I'll re-read Terry Pratchett's _Jingo_ tomorrow.

I'm /covering/ one of the memorial services, in Dedham. But other than that... I'm busy, in the best possible way, and I'm going to stay that way.

It suddenly occurs to me I might see if I can do a story on the Red Cross and its needs, since that was what I did about 3 stories on after the fact, last year. Mini-activism, at its finest.
