Jun. 13th, 2004 07:42 pmSo yesterday I performed down at Kidsfest, in Middletown CT. It was my first time working with puppets, but not my last--it turns out, I've discovered, that when any child under 6 sees a puppet they roll a 6-sided dice in their heads, with 1 being 'scared', 6 being 'ecstatic rapture' and the other numbers being emotions in between.
I did have one awkward moment when I was interacting with a baby in her mother's arms and a bug flew right into my mouth. Here's a transcript:
ME: And how are you to--*hack!* *cack!* *pth-tooie!*
BABY: *slow lizard-like blink*
And here's the transcript the way it would've been if humans were telepathic:
ME: And how are you to--there's something in my mouth! It's buzzing! I think it bit my tongue!
BABY: What a whiner. I don't have enough strength in my neck muscles to tilt my head and you're complaining?
