Jan. 24th, 2005 08:29 pmIt occurred to me tonight, as I sat with a chihuahua on my lap eating an ostrichburger and watching Zatoichi the Swordsman, that multiculturalism is hella fun.
Then the entire cast started tap dancing (the movie is set in 16th century Japan, mind you), and I began to doubt.
Ostrich meat, for the record, is a lot like buffalo--lean, red, a little smoky-tasting.
In my dream last night, my head was mounted on the doorway of a fancy private school's cafeteria. It was a bust, I suppose, since I was there looking up at it and it definitely wasn't organic, but it was very accurate all the way down to the pores. And the nose hair--to my horror, as I looked up at it, I noticed there were about 50 long hairs dangling out of each nostril like anemone. It was mortifying. I pondered different ways to solve this problem, quickly rejected either stealing my head or covering it with a sheet, and decided to wait until no one was looking, light a match and stick it up each nostril, singing the hairs away.
It was as I was reaching up with the flame that the memory of the 'Lucy' episode where her fake nose catches fire hit me. But by then it was too late.
