The overall health of the inhabitants of Mad Dog Maison seems to be improving dramatically. Deb's cold is nearly gone, the sciatica's responding to my combination of heat, ice, stretching, insomnia and whining, and maybe most importantly, our dog managed to go the entire night with only a *moderate* thirst, as opposed to the 'drain the waterbowl dry, then find the second bowl and drain that one, then hunt for moisture wherever it can be found, even if it means stealing water vapor directly from the sleeping humans' thirst that's manifested through the last week. It's been disturbing. Hopefully it was just a big miscalculation with the new brand of wet food we bought him, and now that we've switched back things'll be better.

Other things making me happy:

The cast let me use them as guinea pigs, and I now know just how long to let the liquid chocolate sit in the mold to make a good 'cup' to hold mousse. (The first two batches were too thin and shattered when I tried to get them out, very sad. It's also very sad that it didn't occur to me until literally right now that I could've tossed the shattered bits into the pot for re-melting instead of immediately eating them).

The play is coming along REALLY well; I got to watch several scenes this weekend that I hadn't been exposed to, and they're nifty. I also got to see my costume, which, well, SWANK! It's the closest I've ever come to looking like a Final Fantasy character.

And speaking of plays, I'm going out on Friday to see a version of Jack in the Beanstalk done commedia dell'arte style. Which pretty much guarantees that whether it rocks or sucks, it's still gonna be interesting.

The weather! Blooms are blooming, birds are making love in the yard, and I have a feeling that Steve's going to hatch out of their cocoons any day now. And after missing both monarch butterfly hatchings, I really really reeeeeeeeeeeallly want to see this one.

Also, I've gone three full hours without hearing or seeing the term 'feeding tube'! So it feels like I've won the lottery.

But enough about me. How're you today?
