What does it say about me that these were the high points of my week?

1. Watching a friend (finally) quit her (hellish) job;

2. Receiving an e-mail about an upcoming LARP which began: " Took a look at your online submitted form results and have found that the Sleezy (sic) Producer is the perfect fit for you."

3. Catching Home Movies' "Kafka" episode and singing along. (I got little tiny bug! feet! I don't really know what bugs! eat! )

4. Buying a new bathmat.

*Still* psyched just thinking about any and all of these things, too...

And I should know, because--

Dear Oaken,

I just wanted to let you know that imagining you wandering around singing, "I've Got Little Tiny Bug Feet" has been one of the things making my week bearable. And I don't even know the tune.

Affectionately,

Other Rose 3

Hee! That 'Kafka' episode has been #1 on the List of Things We Need to Show Rose House for about, oh, a year.

not only do i love home movies, but the kafka episode is up there as one of my favorite episodes. the epsiode that has the jason quote "does mama like what she sees?" and the scat scene that follows is a close second favorite. although seeing coach mcguirk scream "NO! NO! I don't THINK so! NO!" in the visiting prison episode is really hysterical.

i support your home movies habit, dude. :)

Home Movies fans unite!

Have you ever seen Brendan Small's stand-up act? We've caught him twice over at the Comedy Studio, and it's *very* strange hearing that voice come out of a normal-looking human.

i have never seen brendan in real life, although i imagine seeing him in human would be very disorienting. it would be a total trip to see brendan, melissa and jason in person together somewhere.

where is the happy comedy studio? does brendan do standup there often?

The Comedy Studio's in Harvard Square, on the third floor of the hong kong restaurant (they discovered that scorpion bowls = people who laugh a lot!)

It's a funny story--Brendan actually got discovered there by the tv people when he was doing stand-up. They were looking for a voice for a new show they had, he was doing an insane rant about luncheon meat...it was love at first sight! So ever since then he's 'owed' the Comedy Studio, and comes back to perform there five or six times a year.
