(I've just emerged from walking back and forth in four inches of painfully hot water in the bathtub, which is the only remedy I know.)

In fact, the temperature is probably just *below* freezing. If I recall my very basic chemistry correctly, it is, counter-intuitively - possible to get water with ice in it *colder* than ice itself. I do not understand this, but after walking this evening, I 100% believe it.

And that is why I wore my Gore-Tex boots to work today. They didn't help me negotiating the steps down to Arlington, though...totally ice sluice. It was like frat boys were just waiting to pour vodka down it.

AUGH! Yeah That sucks. Wet/Cold feet are NOT fun.

Well, your other choice is a 45 minute commute down 495, with the weather, turns into an hour and a half obstacle course of survival from the Stupid People on sloppy, icy roads in large steel vehicles.

...That or having to clear snow and ice and slush off of your car as the wind&sleet bites through your face, standing in, as mentioned, puddle of freezing slush, seeping into your shoes.

I can sympathize - what wasn't ankle deep slush was sheets of pure ice on the way home from the bus stop. I was just praying I wouldn't break my neck before the frostbite set in.

Your feet will be warm again. My Super PsiKick Powers (tm) says that in just a few months you will be so hot, sweaty and miserable that this will be just a memory.
Until then - grab a bottle of rum, a tea, a good book, fill your tub with hot bubbly water and don't come out till May. It can't hurt.
