In fact, the temperature is probably just *below* freezing. If I recall my very basic chemistry correctly, it is, counter-intuitively - possible to get water with ice in it *colder* than ice itself. I do not understand this, but after walking this evening, I 100% believe it.

...That or having to clear snow and ice and slush off of your car as the wind&sleet bites through your face, standing in, as mentioned, puddle of freezing slush, seeping into your shoes.
