Sunday in the Park with Statues
May. 31st, 2007 03:30 pmSunday was a heck of a day in Boston's parks. The Swan Boats were out in the pond, the Scientologists had a big tent and were giving out helium balloons, and there were musicians and balloon sculptors and living statues.

(Is it just me, or does he look like Will Ferrell?)

This was Will's friend. He called himself "The Spartan" even though he was neither mostly-naked nor EXTREMELY LOUD. I wasn't going to argue with him, though.

This statue had the most minimalistic "act" I've ever seen a statue do. When someone put money in her jar, she would STAY motionless, but make a little "kissy" noise with her lips.
On the other hand, she gets serious props for making her outfit out of duct tape:

She was just setting up when I came by. There was something endearing about the way her sign kept blowing over...and who could resist that SKIRT?

This one was my favorite, though (and only partly because I had lunch with her once and really should remember her name! Agh!)
Anyhow, even without the personal bias, she was *great* with her interactions and expressions. I mean, look at this face:
