My boss was working from home today, so she called around 11 to go over a few things. And about ten minutes into the conversation, without her voice changing in any way, she said and I quote, "...so if you could get Jennifer's data for the meeting on Thursday that would be really good, and I think I just saw a monkey run across my backyard."

I <3 my boss.

Being the nosy parker I am, I dug a little deeper and came up with these facts:

*Curly tail

*About two feet high

*It jumps pretty well

(All the above refer to the Mystery Monkey, btw, NOT my boss)

*To the best of her knowledge, none of her neighbors own a monkey

*Yes, she WAS calling from Rockport and not from a secret vacation home in Belize

*No, not drunk or stoned (her or the monkey)

I'm both stumped and highly entertained.

might have been a pet or a test monkey (reese's monkey). I know they keep those at Brown for example, and they are a common research mnonkey and MA has a lot of research favilities....so I'm going with escape lab monkey for the win.

Yeah, helping hands monkey sounds like the most plausable possibility. Escaping from a lab would mean navigating a building full of people, finding a way out, etc. A helping hands monkey could just pop out any accidentally open door or window.
