Bush's lies are getting picked apart by more and more people. A group called the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity released a great memorandum (you can see it at http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=16398); my favorite part was when they quoted Colin Powell's statement that the Niger story was "not totally outrageous". I read that and hear my director's voice saying that a scene "was like something good...but NOT."

There are feral hippos loose on Pablo Escobar's abandoned estate. Which raises the question of how they got there in the first place. Were they status symbols for insanely rich druglords back in the '90s? Did he have them flown over? If Pixar ever wants to do an R-rated movie, this is something they might consider.

Speaking of animation: coming in 2005 from DreamWorks, Wallace & Gromit in The Were-Rabbit. Just the title makes me insanely happy.

I'm trying to get my head around the idea of hippos ever being tame, those things are mean!

Coming this summer... from Pixar Animation Studios...

[camera moving through deep junglebrush, not much visible]

An amazing adventure... An everlasting friendship...

[camera breaks through on a pool where a small boy rides on top of a mirthful hippo]

Pablo's Hippoes, this summer from Pixar.

(What? You thought they'd actually make an adult film? :) )

The hippo's were part of pablo's private zoo now gone to seed.
They now live in a pond and terrorize the refugee who live on his lawn.

New wallace and grommit is most definately worth celebration.

KK!

That just raises more questions, though. How do you get to be a zookeeper for the world's most famous druglord? What were the working conditions like? Did they ever give all the animals coke just to see what would happen?
