1. What food do you like that most people hate?
Moxie, that spine-tingling, hair-curling soda only bottled by one little company in Maine.

2. What food do you hate that most people love?
Peanut butter. Peanuts in general. Nuts, eww.

3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
We have a tie! Dave Matthews, because I know way too much about him personally, and Adam Sandler, whose success (with the exception of The Wedding Singer) just makes me sad.

4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find attractive?
Well, there's attractive in the "drop everything and come live in your house as a cabana boy? Sure!" sense, with Eddie Izzard, Janeane Garofalo, Paula Poundstone and Christopher Walken, but that's just an indicator of wanting to be in their presence, not a carnal thang. This is a toughie...Bjork? Does she qualify?

5. What popular trend baffles you?
Oh, goodie, the essay question. :) Lessee...almost everyone's already mentioned low-rise pants. The Yu-gi-oh card game/cartoon, continued support for Bush, those "arm warmer" sleeves-without-a-shirt Avril Lavigne made popular for about two minutes, SUVs, Fox News, purses so tiny you can barely fit a cellphone in them, botox, Finneran's control of the State House, cops on paid details watching each and every piece of road construction, and bubble teas. I'm sure I'll think of more.

Okay, here's the deal--I knew him when his band was just starting out, down in Charlottesville. He'd been a bartender at a popular bar in town, so a lot of my friends knew him even before he started performing.

And the general consensus back then was, like the Oracle said: "Cute, but not too bright". His posters for club dates got a lot of attention because of the artsy b&w naked women on all fours. Then the first CD got a lot of attention for the artsy b&w woman standing upright. And, just about then, friends of friends started coming down with herpes after spending time with him.

It's not that his music actively makes me wish I was deaf, like, oh, the later works of Paul McCartney. It's just that it's so mediocre, *he's* so mediocre, that each continued success...well, it's just sorta baffling.

I've never done one of these. Where do the questions come from? Where do those interview somebody things come from. I feel so out of touch.

You know, I'm not sure? This is the first one I've done, and I just cut & pasted it from someone else (after taking out her answers and putting in my own). I just spent ten minutes trying to find the community with no luck. So you're not the only one. :)

The interview thing, the 'ask me five questions' one? I think that was just a meme being passed on from person to person--the deal was that everyone who asked you, had to get asked questions by you.

my friend dionysia usually (and has in the past) starts the "Friday Five" as she calls it, but they usually just get passed from friend to friend, sort of like the 'pass the napkin' game.

The interview things are started much in the same way, I imagine.

Having met Paula Poundstone on numerous occasions, I think you might be a bit disappointed on how low-key she is in person. She's definitely very cool, though!

So, what, did you sleep with Dave Matthews? Tell!

LOL!

Did you ever have the blueberry-flavored Moxie they tried marketing for a while? (A really SHORT while). It was, um, interesting.

A Moxie Weekend, actually--and this year it even had a Medieval theme! If only it hadn't been running opposite Robin Hood...:(

Hahaha, my Poppy (grandpa) LOOOOOVES Moxie, reminds him of his boyhood. And I knew another guy who was obsessed with it, but he was from that area, so there ya go.

You don't like PEANUT BUTTER! You fiend! I am very wary of you now. Hah, but I wish I didn't like it, I would probably lose like 293723972 pounds.

And don't most people find Bjork appealing? Everyone I know does. Maybe I just travel in weird circles.

That's the thing that bugged me about that question! I can't really think of that many "unappealing" famous people...I mean, sure, there are the ones in politics, but it's not like I'm going to mention any of them (except for you, Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-ME. I know you read this, and I <3 you and your saucy Bush-bashing ways!)
