Death Rituals (includes a 'Big Fish' spoiler)

I'm back from seeing 'Big Fish', and it's made me very thoughtful about the sort of funeral and/or wake I'd like.

In the movie, there's a gathering of everyone who knew the main character, and they're all dressed the way he thought of them in life: the ringmaster was in his outfit, the clown was in full motley, all that. It was very beautiful.

As I walked home I decided I'd like something like that. Pastimes folks would have it pretty easy, just coming in garb (fightguy, you'd really luck out); family members could come in any ol' thing.

But then I started thinking about my online friends. You LJers, for example...a lot of you will have to come looking like your userpics. aquagirl, stanharding, consider this fair warning. ;)

How would I go? People were telling me I look like the user icon so I could come as myself in a big fluffy blue sweater. :)

Does this mean no more Brian hanging from a cross or whatever silly thing you've told us before?

I worked mine out years ago.

They can't bury me until it rains.
it has to be raining and everyone has to wear whiteface grotesque,
and morning clothes.
and stand in the rain for an hour, while they
listen to the dead guy rhetoric ceremony and manipulative tear jerking written remembrances of me.

And then i htink maybe they should get drunk and go on rides.
or throw pies at strippers.
