TREVES: MY lord is known as "The Iron Wolf" for his prowess in battle!

HODGE: Well, the Prince was known for a while as "Badger-Badger-Tunic-on-Fire". But, um, I think you'd have to ask his brothers about that. Family thing, you know.

--a brief excerpt from the improv exercise "One-Upmanship: the Blood Sport" or "Why Hodge's Mind Is Not Considered a Sharp Object" or "JT is Damn Fun to Interact With"

Rehearsals this weekend were long and productive and fun: everyone in the cast is kicking butt with their performances and raising the bar for me (damn their talented hides). Yesterday was the full-dress run at the Castle, and my realization that I LOVE big poofy sleeves. And these are gigantic. If I wanted to I could hide entire bunches of flowers up them--forget the magician store collapsing kind, I mean real bouquets. Callalillies. Including the vase. I need to figure out more ways to use this.

When I'm not cramming in more archery practice, that is. (Can I mention how nice it is that I wasn't the *only* one to lose an arrow over the cliff yesterday? After the scene was over Dan, Jenna and I lined up at the fence looking down at the surf like a trio of Charlie Browns eyeing the kite-eating tree.)

Between this and the big billowy cloak that I get lost in, I'm having more fun with costumes than I ever have before. Or maybe lack of sleep turns me into a fashion plate? (Wait...college...the outfits I wore then....no, scratch that theory.)

Anyhow. After rehearsal yesterday I rushed home, snagged D and Toby and immediately headed out to Leominster (pronounced: Lemeshuh) to take care of the cats of some friends who are on vacation. Cats feel comforted and loved when you sit on a couch eating ice cream and exploring a big anime and Playstation collection, you see. We didn't want to, we had to.

Unfortunately cats *don't* feel the joy when there's a strange mammal racing around their porch barking and excited. The adrenalin, yes. Joy, not so much. So we learned some important lessons and grew as individuals, and someday soon we'll look back and laugh.

As soon as we get Toby to come out from under the couch.

Sounds like fun!

*really hopes that there was nobody at the BOTTOM of said cliff* Your rehearsals sound like a blast. Poofy sleeves and billowing cloaks? Yup, dress up is fun:D

i'm so jealous that you live in Boston and thus are only an LJ friend and not someone I can come see in shows.
Billowy cloak! For some time in the fall during college I seriously considered getting one of the cloaks they had at a local store - but it was way beyond my budget :( Me want cloak (preferably the cool kind with the hood and the crushed velvet look and celtic runes...ok, I am a nut).
