The "biggest ever" living statue protest? Never materialized. Stoners.
BUT
In looking for them I wandered from Boston Common to the convention center, and saw much oddness along the way. And then had a nice walk along the river to Cambridge and River Gods which is an excellent bar
BUT
my friend and I had the worst waitress I've ever, ever seen. She glared, she ignored us, she yelled at my friend for saving valuable table space (I was four minutes late. FOUR MINUTES), placed us at a four-person table with three strangers, and then shook her head in disbelief when I asked for change for my $20 for a $12 bill. For her to be shocked that she wasn't getting an $8 tip...it was breathtaking.
Then we headed to my place and watched the Kerry speech. Which was, overall, a pleasant surprise and gave me hope for the future

I drank each time a boat or naval experience was mentioned, the phrase "band of brothers" was used, or a "______ is on the way" phrase was mentioned. Now I feel very dizzy, and the house has no more beer.
