When I was a kid, there was one August where I was laying on my belly in the living room passing the time (I think I was playing 'Thriving Lego City Destroyed by Marbles', a very cathartic game) when I noticed a crumpled paper bag on the floor next to a pile of manila envelopes and other clutter. I'd always assumed it was just another bit of Dad's debris but for some reason on that day I took a peek inside.

It was full of Easter candy. The "Bunny" had done a particularly half-assed decorating job that Spring, apparently, and my sister and I had totally overlooked it during the hunt for chocolate.

It was a strange feeling--a mixture of surprise, pleasure, dissatisfaction, a little annoyance, and the nagging feeling that this just wasn't RIGHT. Let's call it Pluh.

I haven't felt it again until this morning, when I logged on to my mail server and found it flooded with the comments that'd been left between June 3 and July 12th. Imagine my pluh.

Further pluhness comes at wanting nothing more than to play Thriving Lego City Destroyed by Marbles all afternoon, but instead being stuck in a damn office doing work.

Spreckenfretchers. >:(

yeah, I thought it was the same thing. Rather than handing out my gmail address to a billion people I just started forwarding mail from my old account, and when an ancient comment showed up in my inbox this morning, I figured it was some sort of delay issue... but it is somehow reassuring to know that it's lj and not gmail.

That happened to me, too! I just realized that's what it was.

I had thought that comment to an ancient comment was fightguy doing some forensic journal reading and just now replying to me.

Huh.

Once again I must state that I love you for making me laugh. Even at the awful hour of 9 am after being up all night on a project.
I like "pluh." It will go right up there with my current favorite made-up word, "merg."
Which is what I said when I realized my LJ comments had done that too.
