I'm *still* feeling groggy from getting up at 4 to see the Leonids. How unfair is that? What happened to the days when I could MUSH until sunrise, powernap for an hour and then shuffle off to a long day standing over twenty-gallon soup pots and in front of industrial ovens? Hey, brainstem, it's been a full 36 hours *and* you got a full night's sleep last night, so stop pretending you spent yesterday being force-fed margaritas and standing too close to amplifiers, because NO ONE'S BUYING IT. Not even the other parts of my/your/our noggin.

At any rate, it's interesting having to deal with a stream of students when I'm in this state. Most of the day's gone okay. They're upper-level students, they know the drill. But when I tell them that they're allowed to change their teacher only three times before I go insane and spray them with water they laugh. They do not think this is actual department policy. But they shall learn, oh yes.

The Wiggles are no longer performing at the BPC, thank all the gods. The last two days have seen a constant stream of toddlers and parents parading past my window for the privilege of watching four scarily-thin Brits who all look like Jim Nabors (if Jim Nabors started wearing Spock shirts and grew about 18 extra shiny teeth in his mouth) dance around singing songs about how important it is to stop and look both ways before you cross the street. And they don't even understand how thoroughly ironic it is to sing this song in *Boston*!!
