Apr. 14th, 2005 02:07 pmI'd like to know how many Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientologists, and other folks from high-emphasis-on-conversion sects flew to the Vatican while the Pope was dying and tried to get in to see him. I bet there were a LOT. Because getting the Pope to convert? On his deathbed?? If you practice a religion that takes that sort of thing seriously, that's the sort of thing that gets (non-accredited) universities named in your honor.
Look at it this way: if the parallel universe theory is true and everything possible *is* happening somewhere, then in one universe a few weeks ago the Pope at his last public address lifted his arms and cried out, "My people! I have made grievous mistakes in my life, but there is still time to correct them! From this point forward, and before the throne of Jah himself I proudly declare....I! AM! A RASTAFARIAN!!!!"
And I bet that universe is a reaaaaaally interesting place right now.
