THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
Jan. 31st, 2007 11:01 amWilloughby and Baltic, Somerville's greatest Czech-style Marionette Theater and Art Gallery, is about to become Somerville's greatest Czech-style Marionette Theater, Art Gallery, and Chocolateria!
The kickoff of this bizarre-yet-savory blend of puppetry and gourmet chocolate is a weekend-long Valentines-themed Chocolate Tasting on February 10th and 11th. From wafer-scroll cookies with love poetry inside to chocolate hearts that are dark, bitter and broken, we have a holiday dessert to suit every mood.
To make the event even more interesting, appearing in the "Teeny Lounge" will be the musical stylings of Swanky Franky Velvet, noted puppet and entertainer. Mr. Velvet brings his show direct from Vegas, and will serenade you with songs that will thrill and amaze.
The chocolate bar will be open from 5-10, and Franky's performance begins at 8. Each ticket entitles you to sample one dessert, and proceeds from this event help support the Marionette Theater. Tickets cost $2.00 each, and you can purchase as many or as few tickets as you wish. Tickets purchased that aren't used can be used toward chocolates or puppet tickets at any time in the future.
Willoughby and Baltic is located at 195g Elm Street, in scenic Davis Square.
