Apr. 20th, 2007 01:17 pmTwo hours ago, I was talking with a student who nearly got shot in the head back in February--she stepped out of the Pru just as a gang fight was starting, and a bullet hit the wall so close to her that her face was red and swollen for a few days from the impact. She really wants to move back to Wisconsin.
Forty minutes ago I was at the Pru myself, watching the mass pandemonium as the main subway stop for the Anime convention discharged right into a line of 2000 people waiting in their Red Sox t-shirts to get books signed by David Ortiz. TV crews were trying to interview baseball fans without getting ninjas and catgirls in the shot. At one point, I realized I was standing in between a Power Ranger and Godzilla (Matthew Broderick movie version).
Oh, Boston. You contradict yourself more than Walt Whitman on Topsy-Turvy Day.
