It was going to be a single paragraph, I swear. The bad guys killing time until sunset.

Typist: So where would they go?
Navigator: They would go to a bar.
typetypetype...

Navigator: Hmm...you know, drinks have gotten a lot stronger in the past thousand years. Immortals might be lightweights, alcohol-wise.
Typist: That's not what we had planned.
Navigator: Trust me.
typetype...

Navigator: Ooo, Louhi and Koschei are so competitive--there's no way either one'd let the other drink more than they do.
Typist: You DO realize this would make them both completely plastered, right?
Navigator (rubbing hands together): Ooo yes....
typetypetypietypetype...

Typist: Okay, they're on the run down Newbury Street.
Navigator: Would they have remembered to bring along the golem, drunk as skunks as they are?
Typist: Ohno! They NEED the golem! They have no way to track the main character without her!!
Navigator: Heeheeheeheeheehee

Typist: Okay, four plastered lost Immortals raising havoc in downtown Boston, one golem wandering loose and confused in Southie. What now?
Navigator: I've been thinking about the main character and her "mentor".
Typist: Whoa whoa whoa...what's up with those quotation marks?
Navigator: Oh, c'mon, isn't that 'kindly old wise man' schtick a little overdone? Trickster gods! Disguises! The whole thing's a big trap! It'll be great!
Typist: But...but...(waving plot outline futilely)

14,870 words to go.

Ha ha ha ha HAHAhahahahahaha!!!!!

Um.

No.

I plan to take the month of December off (that is, do other projects) to get a sense of perspective, open the mess up on January 1 and start the second draft....by February, hopefully, it'll have magically transformed from incoherent crud (coughEd Greenwoodcough) to something very bad but at least coherent.

Isn't the NaNoWriMo motto "Write a Bad Novel?" At least in your case, it's likely to be "Write a 'bad' novel which will make your friends laugh until they beg for mercy!"

I love your little updates on it, by the way.
