This is one of those days when I love the world and everyone in it.

Well...not Karl Rove. And Scott "Puffy McMoonface" McClellan. But I'm trying.

THANK YOU to everyone who's contributed, sent their best wishes, forwarded my plea, or helped out in other ways. Y'all are totally amazing.

Also, given recent events and hoaxes (in particular, the [livejournal.com profile] city_glitter fiasco), it's been pointed out I should give out as much information as I can.

TOBY: Our dog. Diabetic, Cushingoid, a big ball of love (when he's not defending the house from mailmen). Recent sufferer of gastroenteritis, which threw off his blood sugar levels, which in turn led to a near-total system crash and oy, the chaos...

HIS REGULAR VET: Dr. Leavy at Porter Square Veterinarians, 617-628-5588.

HIS CRITICAL CARE VET: Dr. Margaret Johnson-Levy at MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center, 617-522-7282.

We take our animals to Porter Square vet as well. I dont know his full name but John who has been working there for years takes care of all our animals including our diabetic cat

As someone who understands massive vet bills (and likes chocolate), I really want to contribute, but I won't have fundage until next week. Will you be keeping the lines open for a while?

I'm in the same boat... I'd love to help (I've got a fair amount of good karma to keep spreading!), but probably can't until next week. :)

If you heard G. Gordon Liddy's radio program (I don't think it airs in Boston, but I was at my OB-Gyn's on the Cape), you probably wouldn't love him either. His show's so bad it's funny.

I must say.... this whole thing with Rove and McClellan... really reinforces my belief in karma.

Did that girl who is literally a day older then me (im 22) ACTUALLY DO THAT?!?! WTF!?! Is she retarded? *sigh* seriously this is what makes me think woman are the most decietful/disloyal etc things on earth. I can't believe she fed her friend to the wolves like that nevermind coming up with the lame excuse of an "experiment"

Oh, totally! The bills aren't going anywhere, and I can keep doing this until the Trader Joe's down the street runs out of their raw supplies of Ghirardelli and heavy cream.

Thank you, btw. :)

I know!

To make matters...well, I'm not sure if they're worse or just more interesting, but according to LJ Drama the truth behind the "experiment" excuse is that she made up the whole story to impress someone who didn't like her, hoping they'd go "Oh! She cares for burnt kitties! I was totally wrong in thinking she was a psycho freak!"

In a way this makes me feel better, because if she *did* do it as an experiment for her father? And his reaction on hearing about it was really to cry tears of bewildered love? Worst. Parenting. Ever.

Please keep us updated on the Tobster, I hope he is feeling well enough for that walk soon! I am up for some homosexual dog flirtation!

We've got five cats, ranging in age from 13 to five.

They are not getting any younger.

So while we haven't yet faced the kind of vet bill issues you have, it's something we have already begun to contemplate.

I adore truffles. Soon's my paycheck hits my bank account tomorrow, I'll be heading over to paypal.

Let me know if I'll need to pay extra to get Priority Mail shipping -- since mine will have to cross the continent!

Same boat. My partner just lost his job, we have to stare rent in the face in two weeks. But once it's cooler for shipping (it was 98 here today *melt*) I want to try again, if we have any funds. It's not like Cushing's doesn't require regular vet care and ongoing funds, and our dogs have been lucky enough to have stellar health and a very low annual vet bill average.
