Jul. 14th, 2005 11:14 amThis is one of those days when I love the world and everyone in it.
Well...not Karl Rove. And Scott "Puffy McMoonface" McClellan. But I'm trying.
THANK YOU to everyone who's contributed, sent their best wishes, forwarded my plea, or helped out in other ways. Y'all are totally amazing.
Also, given recent events and hoaxes (in particular, the
city_glitter fiasco), it's been pointed out I should give out as much information as I can.
TOBY: Our dog. Diabetic, Cushingoid, a big ball of love (when he's not defending the house from mailmen). Recent sufferer of gastroenteritis, which threw off his blood sugar levels, which in turn led to a near-total system crash and oy, the chaos...
HIS REGULAR VET: Dr. Leavy at Porter Square Veterinarians, 617-628-5588.
HIS CRITICAL CARE VET: Dr. Margaret Johnson-Levy at MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center, 617-522-7282.

Date: 2005-07-14 06:59 pm (UTC)To make matters...well, I'm not sure if they're worse or just more interesting, but according to LJ Drama the truth behind the "experiment" excuse is that she made up the whole story to impress someone who didn't like her, hoping they'd go "Oh! She cares for burnt kitties! I was totally wrong in thinking she was a psycho freak!"
In a way this makes me feel better, because if she *did* do it as an experiment for her father? And his reaction on hearing about it was really to cry tears of bewildered love? Worst. Parenting. Ever.

So while we haven't yet faced the kind of vet bill issues you have, it's something we have already begun to contemplate.
I adore truffles. Soon's my paycheck hits my bank account tomorrow, I'll be heading over to paypal.
Let me know if I'll need to pay extra to get Priority Mail shipping -- since mine will have to cross the continent!
