The lady at the convenience store asked me if I was Indian today, possibly because I complimented her on her mehndi (which *was* great--viney patterns coiling up both forearms).

I don't know why this flatters me so much.


The other night at music rehearsal it was determined that there will be two songs in which I get to sing solo verses.

I don't know why this makes me want to run and hide in a deep hole.


Last night D and I celebrated the 12th anniversary of our first date, with raspberry-marinated salmon and pesto pasta and canoodling.

I *do* know why this has put me in such a good mood. Hee.

As for the indian thing-I too, have high Indian Fu vibes. It is because you are deferring, polite and observant. Three highly prized traits missing in soooo many Americans.

Hooray for solo verses! C'mon, you work at a music school. And you had a solo verse last year, too. So you're just moving up in the world. :)

And I'll eighth (ninth?) the hurrahs for accidental cultural passing. I was greatly pleased to be told I could easily pass for Jewish by one of my Jewish castmates in the Vagina Monologues. :)
