Briefly:

Mobile Ren Faire is done! Yay!

We kicked butt! Double yay!

On Saturday, due to a scheduling snafu, the "Birds of Prey" show went up at the same time as "Michelle's Magical Poodles". Zuzu, a gigantic golden eagle, decided the poodles were much more interesting, took off, and hung out on a telephone pole staring down at them and making a lot of people nervous. Eventually she buzzed the joust crowd a couple times, got bored, and was coaxed into her pen. Oh, also going on at the same fairground, on the other side of the Grange buildings? The Dog Show. It was a 'Far Side' cartoon come to life.

If anyone hears a 'scrabble-scrabble' sound, that's Shakespeare crawling up out of his grave to come get me. I was very bad to him.

At Angell, we once treated a Yorkie that was attacked by a Red-Tailed Hawk.

The docs gave me a funny look when I expressed sympathy that the Hawk lost it's dinner :)

You would've loved this bird show--all four birds were dysfunctional sweeties who'd been rescued from bad situations. I need to put their stories in my next post. :)

Right on! Rescue raptors are the best. And getting to watch them face their fears is even neater. It's cool to watch a hawk have a stare-down with a car :)

I keep reading "Mobile Ren Faire" and thinking it's like the travel version of a regular Ren Faire, where everything is foldable and magnetic or something.
