Ooo, nice weekend.

Saturday was spent baking and Netflix'ing; D and I watched The Thin Man, which was a great example of how actors (and possibly the director) can take a script and run with it. Nick and Nora have one of the most 'real' relationships I've ever seen in a movie, even considering the fact that if normal people tried to drink like that their livers would explode out of their bodies in an hour.

Speaking of exploding, my Peppermint Truffles have apparently finally crossed the line between 'tasty' and 'blow the top of your head off'. Hee. They were the best part of the Dancing Gingerbread Peppermint Fudge Cake I took to the Phoenix holiday party on Sunday, which was a hoot--I had no *idea* Phoenix members had been involved with so many bad movies!

I think I'm finally starting to get in the holiday spirit...it's the smell of evergreen and the sight of snow on the ground. (And holiday parties help too, yes.) Now we'll see how long it lasts.

So... I've been having some ponderings...

If I were to say, make some mint extract, from my pagan-love-grown mint... would that interest you for your yumminess making? :)

Right on. I'll toss some mint into some vodka, and I'll let you know when I've got a good-sized batch of it :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Thin Man. Hah, but real? I think Nick and Nora get along FAR to well to be called that. Also, if I was some rich hot chick, I don't know how long I would put up with an alcoholic on again off again detective husband. But maybe I would--William Powell was pretty damn charming. And there would be Asta and the kid (who you hardly EVER see, poor neglected thing) to be considered.

Oooh Peppermint Truffles! Sounds sooo good. I am obsessed with anything mint and chocolate. I have this fantasy of constructing a tower of Peppermint Patties and then eating it. It's very Homer Simpson...

Lol--this is why we should live in the same city! I would totally build a peppermint patty skyline just so you could pretend to be Godzilla and devour it.

I love the thin man and I loved them as a child and have probably based all my ideas about how a husband and wife should be based on Nick and Nora. They are the standard of awesome love in my little universe.

Which I guess beats acting like a passive but spoiled and rosy cheeked princess and thinking some guys gonna save me from myself someday on a white stallion!

Nick and Nora

Hello , I have to agree with you on the Thin Man. One of my all time favs. The rest of the series was not as well done but you have to go far to beat the pairing of William Powell and Mirna(?) Loy. What a movie should be.
