Mar. 14th, 2006 12:34 pmSo what was I doing outside at 11:30 in a thunderstorm in big red clown pants and a little blue beanie? It's a good question.
The easy answer is that I went to Harvard's Purim party with
morninghood. And it rocked, about a third of the room was in costume, there was a live band that just never stopped playing, there was much goodness. (I should note that one couple came as Willy Wonka and an Oompa-Loompa, which might say more about the dynamics of their relationship than they meant to. I wish I'd gotten a picture of them kissing--it could've launched a thousand slashfics.)
It *was* a little odd, to me, that the dancing was segregated, all the men dancing in a big circle on one side of the room and all the women on the other...at the only other Purim party I'd been to, back in college, there was just one big scrum with everyone holding hands together. (Then again, Oberlin was its own reality that had very little in common with the outside world).
It's now about 12 hours later, I'm at my desk with a hangover and still a little deaf in my left ear, and still trying to remember and write down all the performance and workshop ideas
morninghood and I talked about.
Yay.
And also, thud.
