First off, my love to everyone out there who's having trouble. January seems to've been just a brutal month so far (and it's not like the end of December was any cakewalk).

This weekend was Arisia, and the live performance of 'Red Shift, Interplanetary Do-Gooder'. Let me tell you, there was no better time to get a head cold. I spent the weekend feeling like someone had emptied out my skull and filled it with maple syrup*, but I think I managed to pull everything off fairly well. Okay, except for those times when I needed to a) converse, b) think quickly, or c) notice things.

Arisia was in the Hyatt this year, which I'd never been in before; it's a glass hotel built...oh, how to describe it...it's like a giant cake mold for a step pyramid, only with elevators inside. You could stand in the atrium on the ground floor and look all the way up to the 16th floor where the art show was. (You couldn't actually get UP there because of how crowded the few elevators were, but you could see it. I actually climbed to the 14th floor in an attempt to check out the dealers room, only to find out it had closed a half hour before. I credit my New England upbringing for the fact that I did not weep or write emo poetry about it.)

Our show, I'm happy to say, was pretty damn successful: we had almost the Platonic Ideal of an audience (including some familiar faces, yay!), a script that was totally perfect for the venue, and a startling array of talent on both sides of the mikes. I'm starting to like this whole 'radio' thing.

Aaaand now it's time to go walk the dog. G'night, folks.

*It made me feel sappy!
