Me, I don't think about the Bible much these days, but I think the scholarly consensus is that, unless you read Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, the best sources are the newer ones, like the New International Version. The King james Version, despite the great peotry of its language, is just wrong about a lot of stuff. Biblical scholarship is more advanced than it was in 1611. So I hope the guy used a modern translation.
