"Oops!" moments in the news

Soon, my friends, soon I shall post something that's actually about my life instead of being a link to something wacky.

Not this post, though, because oh my godz, when someone thinks she's about to be fired, takes proactive revenge on her boss by deleting $2.5 million worth of data from his computer, and THEN finds out her job was never actually in danger? THAT is a news link worth forwarding along to the entire world!

Also, can I just mention how addictive that SC Magazine site is? If you've got time, check out the story about the hacker group using YouTube to announce its campaign against the Church of Scientology, or the speech by the CIA analyst who described how organized criminal gangs have hacked into power grids, held utility companies for ransom, and in a few cases caused blackouts in major cities.

Wow. That's exactly the kind of ridiculous overreaction to ambiguous information that always makes me roll my eyes in romantic comedies. I guess some people really are like that....

The woman who tried to get me fired at DEC-also tried this stunt, too bad I was in charge of backups and had forwarded her threat letters to my boss. Doesn't surprise me at all.

The scientology thing has made most major news outlets, and like all of the popular internet ones... I'm eagerly awaiting to see how long they can keep up enthusiasm for the project, and if anything actually results from it.

But I think a large part of their goal is simply to further disgrace scientology in the eyes of the common man, through the media.
