Commitment to your Character

oakenguyI love Intercon SO MUCH. I'm totally utterly fried, two-brain-cells-to-rub-together, so a longer, "these people were awesome for THESE reasons" post will have to wait until I get a good night's sleep.
Before anything else, though, I have to write down the Balloon Story while it's still fresh in my mind. This was told to me over breakfast this morning.
Basic set-up: a LARP set in a fast food restaurant is about to start. The players who've been cast as restaurant employees know they'll be facing some scary supernatural things. One of them is Mike.
"So before the game starts, Mike asks me to come into the bathroom with him and say whether or not I can spot anything odd. And I can't. And he lets me know that he's filled up a water balloon and placed it down his pants.
And the game begins, and I'm the only one who knows Mike's got this, um, prop! And zombies come through the drive-thru, and we deal with that, and some vampires come by, nothing, and finally CTHULHU comes to the drive-thru. And the moment our characters see Cthulhu, Mike pokes a hole in the balloon and woosh, fluid! All down the front of his pants!
And everything just STOPS. And in everyone's mind there's the same 'Oh my god, he didn't really, DID he?' Because anyone else, there'd be no way, but with Mike and how seriously he takes roleplaying..."
