The Weekend! (lj-cut for space)
Jun. 23rd, 2003 10:18 amHow sleepy do I feel? I misread another entry and thought
cobweb visited Finagle a Beagle, and kept going for another five minutes before I realized that, no, she was not buying a dog.
Saturday
We go look at an apartment in Inman. Great neighborhood, BUT... The outside of the building looks like a rundown barn; the inside is so small and dim that we'd really be better off stealing the moving van and living out of it. Also, for $1300 a month is *one* kitchen drawer too much to ask?
Afternoon: my friend's SF game, this session titled 'How Best to Rally an Interstellar Fleet to Smash the Bad Guys'. This kept the Captain busy and gave me time to put on my Paranoid Cap (which is like my Thinking Cap, but better suited for dealing with this particular GM) and think about all the possible ways we might have either missed clues or overlooked horrifying possibilities.
Also, the Dogfood Bag of Doooooom catches another mouse! Ha! We've spent about $50 on various traps and ultrasound-blasters, but it's still an empty Iams bag that's actually doing the job. Go fig.
Evening: BATBOY with
cutiemelissa! You need to see this musical! You will love this musical! I'm still humming:
MAN #5: They stripped him of his dignity,
MAN #1: They beat him like a gong.
MAN #3: And he was kicked repeatedly,
ALL: And that was wrong! So wrong!
Night: Meant to go to the party. Really did. Sat down on the couch for just... five... zzzzzzsnorkzzzzz........
SUNDAY
Morning: We take a look at the outside of another apartment, one we'll be touring at 8. Try (successfully, I think) to not look like burglars.
Then I scoot to rehearsal, which becomes an indoor rehearsal after about ten minutes, when the skies open up. We break into small groups to work out smaller scenes, and I discover that putting together ideas with Cliff and
empheliath feels really natural and fun.
Lunch: topics discussed include Manray experiences, left-handedness, proper defence of medieval castles, commedia dell'arte, the ways people used to poison themselves, and the scariness of Christian/Guy of Gisborne. A normal meal, in other words. :)
Afternoon: More rehearsing and blocking. It's not a real rehearsal until someone gets deafened in one ear. Poor Cliff. I make a note to keep several other cast members between myself and Prince John.
Evening: We kill time and then go to the Central Square apartment...and fall in love! Huge closets! Ceilings high enough to swing poi in! We're drooling...so, of course, it turns out that the folks who toured the place right before us wanted it. But we're on the list if they bail. Go home, nurse our sorrows.

Date: 2003-06-23 07:48 am (UTC)Good luck with the apartment...I hope those other folks don't take it for some reason and it's yours, ALL YOURS! I know how nervous Mike and I were when we were waiting to find out about this apartment, and all we had to worry about was the credit check.
