Jul. 28th, 2003 09:52 amBob Hope's died. I've had Road Movie to Berlin playing on my internal soundtrack all morning.
I've been trying for about a half hour to put a post together about the Maine Faire, and our houseguest, but...I got nothin'. I'll try again when I'm awake.
On the car ride last night, in the back seat with the window open, I shut my eyes and tried to keep track of our way up Mass Ave by scent. For that's the sort of idea I come up with when I'm overtired.
My conclusions:
*Dogs should get a lot of credit for doing this sort of thing regularly without hyperventilating. Ayiiee.
*Just a guess, but dogs' "scent map" of Mass. Ave. is likely to be a string of restaurants with occasional grassy bits and gas stations in between. Smell-wise, restaurants are gigantic landmarks. And they're all distinctive--McDonalds with its processed oils, the coffeehouses, the bars, the little Burger Cottage with it's charred meat smell, Au Bon Pain with its strange pastry aroma.
