Cool but expensive! In both money and time (especially with certain other stuff on my plate *cough Malterre's troupe cough*), I can only afford to do one, much as I'd love to experience it all.

You could find the Boston branch of Chhandam www.kathak.org and study Indian Classical dance. Kathak needs more men! You might also look into Oddisi if that's available. It's gorgeous. Hey, why don't men bellydance? With fire fingers perhaps? Then you could study circus arts with me in Toronto and we can take our act on the road. Who else is coming? Oh...by the way, hi, I'm Lemur from Toronto. What commedia del'atrte character do you most identify with? I'm kind of a Columbina type myself.

C'mon...by taking improv, you're also taking a writing class, and in physical scenes you'll be doing plenty of swordfighting, martial arts and gymnastics. Done deal!

Also: I'll be taking improv level 2 at IB. I took UCB level one in NYC this summer - how are IB's classes? Is there a particular professor I should look out for?

Ooooo...these are very good thoughts.

And there *is* a local belly dancing troupe that teaches men; my friend Stephen was in it.

And I *do* have a fire addiction just waiting to blossom.

Hmm...

******
Hi Lemur! Columbina rocks. :) I lean towards Brighella, though Il Capitano is *fun* to play.

oops, and that's meant to be Odissi and del'arte by the way..not that many sites come up for odissi even if you spell it right, but it's gaining popularity in North America.

IB's classes are great! Level II's notoriously the hardest: expect them to try to find whatever your comfort zone is, and then repeatedly push you out of it. :)

I had Will Luera for both I and II. He's very good and makes some interesting parallels between improv and scientific laws. He can be a little hard to read at times. The other teacher I've had experience with, Sharon Leckie, is high-energy and fun, with her heart on her sleeve. She's a little more scattered than Will, but she talks so much faster that they both get to the finish line at the same time, if you know what I mean?

SWORDFIGHTING, BriBri.

but finishing up your writing responsibilities is key too

and your married right?
so you need time with your lady
which means you cant do them all

but stick to your education

Merely freaking aerialists (and soon , would-be aerialists freaking). I can't say what I think of the school since my first class doesn't start until September but swinging upside down way up in the air is most lemurs' idea of a good time. I don't believe there is any sort of clowning program. I fear clowns, so I'm not displeased by that.
