oakenguyOkay, I know this would get me a good whuppin' if I said it in a bar, but there are two silver linings to this horrible, horrible day in sports.
1) Roger Clemens deserves one final trip to the World Series before he retires. To end his career with last night's game, getting lit up like a pinball and pulled after four innings, that would have been pathetic.
No.
He deserves to have his last game be Game Six of the World Series, where he lets an easy grounder go between his legs and lets the Marlins score.
2) We would've had to play the Marlins? Puh-leeze. Red Sox vs. Cubs, that would've been a beautiful thing. (The Mets are an acceptable second choice.)
Tonight is the start of Haunted Hammond Castle and my role as Mad Scientist, Mood Setter and Exposition Boy. Yum! I've been thinking much too much about the role. It's not really a question of whether or not to go over the top--what is this "top" thing other actors speak of?--but exactly which path to take to get there. Nerdy/geeky? Teutonic? Raving? Cold and corporate? Stammering and twitching? So many choices...
