The difference between humans and critters is that if a critter hurt its shoulder so that typing was painful, it wouldn't type. Especially to make a silly Livejournal post. Like this one.

Ow ow ow.

Of course, only humans do push-ups, so any other animal wouldn't have injured itself in this embarrassing way and gotten in this situation.

Ow.

And yet, I'm still in a good mood. Heh.

Ow.

Fall in!

Very manly! (I can still do only 10 standard pushups and 15 against a counter)

But you can get past 1 without your tendons going "that's it, we're out of here". And that's a Good Thing.

That's weird. I don't know if you often get random anonymous lj things in regards to some sort of a religious movie- but I got one too! Although, mine came from someone I know in email. But it's odd to see that thing "Advertised" twice, in a day. Kinda kooky.

Sorry your shoulder hurts, silly! Although I'm sure in was injured in some sort of feat of manliness with the push ups. :)

Eh?

Biz-zare. You don't have IP logging on your journal, do you? Would be interesting to see if they all came from the same place.

This is my first spam! (On LJ anyhow.) And it comes the day after an IM conversation where I was joking about how much money I'd given the breast enlargement spammers...coincidence?

Manliness. Um.....yeah. Here are the steps down the path which led to my soreness:

Step 1: Roll a 7 on my List of Things to Do. 7 = push-ups.

Step 2: Grumble, go the the cleared-off space on the floor.

Step 3: Get into position.

Step 4: Nudge dog out of way.

Step 5: Repeat step 3.

Step 6: Repeat step 4.

Step 7: Begin first push-up.

Step 8: Hear what sounds like popcorn going off in my shoulder.

Step 9: Eat Ben & Jerry's while watching 'About a Boy', feeling sorry for myself.

Of course, said human could take some tylenol and keep typing until they forgot that their shoulder hurt in the first place...or...OR! You could slam your hand in the fridge and the pain in your hand would eliminate the ability to type and allow you to forget all about your shoulder! Problem solved *giggles*

I'm supposed to do 50 pushups (I can only do it in sets of ten) after three hours of tumbling, handstands, trapeze and climbing the silks. I take lots of ibuprofen to help me forget the pain and come back the next day to do it again. I guess if I heard popcorn going off in my shoulder I'd be concerned but then, my silks instructor broke his wrist two months ago and kept training until he finally got it looked at and put in a cast for four weeks (apparently most normal humans need surgery and six weeks in a cast). Circus humans are nearly as silly as they get but I think some of them just regenerate like lizards. The lemurs who imitate them unfortunately lack this property.

I am intruiged by how you do your To Do List.

What flavor Ben and Jerry's?

Was it butter popcorn, or homestyle light?
I giggled after reading this...

I've only gotten lj spam in the form of "join my community" from some random person.

i have also been added by a "Serial adder" which... apparently is a bad thing. I dunno.

I don't know why, but I really love the list + dice rolling--I wind up getting a lot more accomplished than I would otherwise. The difference between "I should really exercise" and "the universe told me it's time to exercise" is a gigantic one!

What I do is just write down everything, fun and chore-y, that I'd like to get done--I try to keep an even spread between fun tasks and not-fun ones so that, say, all the high numbers aren't depressing. And then I either roll dice or (if it's a strange number) use random.org

Oh, and it was Mint Oreo. :)

mint oreo? Why have I never seen this flavor??! oh no... That's so unfair.

That's purty cool method of dealing with things. Except when the universe also decides that your shoulders should make noises like popcorn after making you exercize.

I agree! Last time I use *that* set of dice.

heh... ahh... so it's the fault of the dice, not the universe on that one, I see.

have you seen in regard of flight
it was stolen from the libraries here years ago and hard to come by.
I justfound a copy cheap on a new website that I am thinking of getting.

But he is a god in my eyes.
i have always had the goal
of sitting somewhere between him and penn and teller.
maybe even literally
at dinner or something.

he's a brilliant
and underappreciated
fellah.

I've seen in regard of flight about six times--I think I'm the only one who ever checks it out from the library.

The day after we had this converation, I read that the Signature Theatre in NYC is devoting its entire season to Bill Irwin, and that his new show, The Regard Evening, first recaps In Regard of Flight and then updates it with a look at how the same issues seem 20 years later.

Feel like a road trip?
