Philippa Gregory's "The Queen's Fool" has sucked me in like no book has in months.

Meanwhile, radioparadise.com has played a set consisting of the B-52s, Joe Strummer, and the Talking Heads;

and the Chair has gone home and I have nothing to do here at work except wait for a phone call and relax.

This weekend's shaping up nicely!

Queen's Fool: Really? I find it lacks depth but I do like the story. It just hasn't pulled me in so much.

It helps that I'm a John Dee groupie. A story with John Dee + a court fool is a combination that I'm helpless to resist.

I'm afraid to ask who John Dee is. I suppose google would help, but I don't want it to give away anything about a book I haven't read yet :P

He's a famous historical figure who factors heavily into the plot of the book, at least at the beginning.

There. I don't think that gave away too much, certainly not more than the back cover :)

I didn't realize the name John Dee until a little bit in to it. Then it hit me.. "Oh, Dr. Dee who was in MERF the first couple of years but is gone now.."

Clearly I need to brush up on history.
