I like the fact that hawks are doing so well in Boston that I see one at least once a week. I saw one circling over the Fens yesterday after work, spiralling against the gold and rose sunset.

I like the fact that Krispy Kreme is moving into the Prudential Mall, a ten minute walk from where I work.

But do I like the fact that the cheapest price I can find for the Muppet Treasure Island soundtrack is $34.98? No sir, I do not!

Cabin fever, ahhhhhh...

That is just beyond wrong.

Don't like it. The place is EVIL, especially when it's making hot doughnuts NOW. :)

I live about a block from KK. When the wind is blowing right (which is most of the time), the smell of frying dough and sugary syrup greets me as I step out the door. It smells pretty good, but it does get old after a while. :)

I'm glad that I'm not the only person bitten by the Muppets.

Ever since Kermit became a big star he just keeps asking for more and more money for every new Muppets movie.

I see hawks about once a week too!

The live in the field near my work. Sometimes I see them catch pigeons. They are totally beautiful and it's nice to have a bit of nature in the city.

And as far a KK goes -- UGH! I had had them out of state and LOVED them. When they came here I went to the Wellington store 4 times in the first week. But that was bad... I totally over did it and now I feel ill if I even see one of their donuts.

And the soundtrack? That is just wrong, there must be a better way.

Muahaha I am immune to the lure of Krispy Kreme because I don't like raised donuts.

At least if you WALK to KK, you wont feel too guilty about having 1-2 of the donuts. I said 1-2. If you have more than that, you usually go into a quick sugar rush followed by an ever quicker sugar crash. But if you DO go, go when the "Hot Donuts" sign is on, so you can get at least a free one.

And $34.98 for the Mupppet soundtrack. Talk about your muggings!

Hawks are cool too! Circling the Fens? Must be waiting to feast on some YANKEES!!!

All better now.

Disney bought the muppets ages ago, not long after Jim Henson died. Jim Henson Productions just bought them back, and for a tidy profit.

Disney's original deal fell through when Jim Henson died. Some German media company bought them instead and sold them back to Henson's family last year. But still for a tidy profit :)

no they didn't.

Disney was trying to buy the Muppet Company 15 years ago, but then Jim died and the deal was never made. They were just recently repurchased by the Henson kids from E.M. TV, a media group from Germany, who went bankrupt after spending their money on race cars or something.

They just announced the deal with disney the other day and it only covers the Muppets themselves, not the company

Mmmm...Krispy Kreme. We have them here in OK, but only in a handful of locations. You can't get fresh Krispy Kremes in my town. They have to be shipped from OKC or Tulsa. Praise Jebus, becuase my Krispy Kreme weakness would have made me morbidly obese by now if it weren't for the fact that I require fresh hot ones. Damn you, New York City, for making your fresh Krispy Kremes so readily available when I was living there! *shakes her fist*

As for the soundtrack, that's just fucking asinine. Have you tried ebay? Are you morally opposed to Kazaa? Unless that CD is made out of gold, you should be able to get it at a reasonable price. Have you tried the official Muppet website?

That's just bizarre. Jim Henson would be mortified. *clutches her copy of the Muppet Movie soundtrack on vinyl tightly*

Muppet Central is a fan based website. The official one is www.henson.com or http://muppets.com/

That's very evil. Perhaps you could look at half.com, eBay or a place like that if you haven't yet?

Oh that's dangerous. And they're moving into an indoor mall--I wonder how the ritzy makeup boutique a few doors down will handle the odor?

See, I still haven't had one of their hot, fresh donuts. I think that as soon as I satisfy my curiosity I'll be in your shoes, but until then...

That's a relief. :)

Actually, my first sighting of a hawk in the city was on top of George Washington's hat in the Public Garden, eating a pigeon he'd just caught. I'm not sure if it was a political statement or just a nice warm perch.

It's especially sad since it has some of my favorite songs, and none of them made the 25th anniversary album!

(On the other hand, it still has Movin' Right Along and Can You Picture That?, which makes me very happy.)
