Oh, there's nothing quite as fun as fielding a call from my student loan company at work. Oh, you'll give me a bit of a discount if I give you the money in one lump sum? I bet you will. I'd like to see that much money in one lump sum, too. People would think I'd just made a big cocaine deal.

And yet...a bank loan probably *would* be less interest than what I'm paying now.

Argh. Thinking about That Mistake of a Private School and the Resultant Financial Mess always makes me wish I'd become a hacker and made sure the Millennium Bug wiped out Sallie Mae.

I feel your pain, although by osmosis, as I know someone else who desperately wished for Y2K to help out, but Sallie Mae wasn't the target.

And all I can think of is Calluna's famous telemarketer-squisher:
"What would you do with a million dollars?"
"I'd pay my student loans."
"Ha ha ha. But what would you do with the rest of it?"
"I'd pay the student loans of all my friends."
"A-ha-ha. But what would you do with the rest of it?"
"There wouldn't be anything left."

People like yu make me feel so good about my student loan...I always presumed that all student loans had super low interest rates, but apparently, it's just VSAC. I'm not sure what the rate is, but I know of the $200 I sent them last month, $192 of it went towards the principle balance.
