Oaken, you nearly killed me laughing. These are great!

I know just how they feel - otherwise it wouldn't be so funny.

I'm glad it made you feel better. Here are some titles I might put up if I were participating:

*Every Time I Revise It It Gets Shorter
*Dialogue Is Kicking My Sorry Ass
*Why Does Inspiration Only Strike in the Shower?
*Who Stole the Other Half of My Plot?
*Put a Semicolon on My Tombstone Because I Cannot Write a Simple Sentence to Save My Life

1) Isn't the byline for NaNoWriMo 'write a bad novel'?

2) One of the first things I learned in Junior year composition when dealing with writing was even if you can't think of anything to write, write *something*. Your list of things you're writing not having to do with your novel counts.

I also heard at a talk by a published writer that good writing comes after writing a lot of bad writing.

So, my point? The fact that you're writing is good training for when you're actually writing good stuff instead of crappy novel. So, my opinion is, keep it up! Bad writers of the world, unite!

I've also gotten this advice from my thesis advisers. Not that I've actually done this... but that's a different topic.

Hey, oaken... we should chat sometime about writing schedules. I know yours is for fiction, but maybe just hanging around someone who at least makes a pretense of organization will rub off some of those vibes on me. Hell, we should just hang out anyway. :P

Hee hee hee hee. In this vein:

*Help! My Plot Has Fallen and I Can't Get It Up!
*I Know the Beginning and the End; It's This Middle Bit I Can't Handle
*I Didn't Think I Was Writing Porn, It Just Happened

Hee! This would be fun. Both the pretense-by-example and the hanging out parts. :)
