Jun. 29th, 2004 03:15 pmSo, tuna jerky. (Or, 'Oaken tries a food so you don't have to')
It's, well, it's something. It smells like tuna. It looks like tuna that's been run over about a hundred times. Unfortunately it tastes like bark. Bark that's had pepper rubbed into it.
I think I knocked a tooth out of alignment trying to chew it just now. Bleah.

Date: 2004-06-29 12:52 pm (UTC)All I could think of reading this post was a story I read about the most popular pizza toppings in other countries, and tuna was a favorite in Great Britain. Still better than the "Mayo Jaga" combo the Japanese like (potatoes and bacon mixed into mayonaisse).
Okay, I'm not hungry anymore...

Date: 2004-06-29 03:22 pm (UTC)Did you make this tuna jerky? (My roomie made beef jerky a couple weeks ago, and it was great!)
Or *gasp of horror* did you buy this somewhere?
And they peppered it? Why not just *salt* it?
BLESH!

Date: 2004-06-30 07:22 am (UTC)It was a crazy time. I actually bought it three weeks ago when I made the mistake of going into an overpriced yuppie food shop when I was starving (which says something about the quality of their other food, I know.) I kept it in my backpack, never quite hungry enough to actually *try* the stuff, until yesterday when desperation got the better of me.
