Finally, finally, FINALLY my subconscious has decided to roll over and get involved with the story. It makes such a difference. It's hard to explain what it's like when this happens--I feel full, mentally, like a VCR that's had a tape loaded in. There's this background hum in my head almost like a song's been "earwormed" back there, but instead of a song it's a plotline. And while I sleep connections get made, sometimes useful, sometimes not, but always entertaining.

I woke up this morning at 6 with this thought in my head: "Psst....dragons collected gold and shiny things because they were basically giant reptilian Bower Birds. And only a small handful went with precious metals--there were others who decorated with cedar trees, or statues, and in one case with carefully-arranged rowboats."
