Watching Bravo's version of Pulp Fiction, the one with all the swear words taken out ("motherfuckers" was turned into "gentlemen"), is like eating wine jerky. While some bits are still the same, it's a whole different experience.

I had a similar experience watching "From Dusk 'til Dawn." I actually watched the whole thing on TV just so I could see how different it was from the original. And boy, do some things ever not work in their PG-for-TV translation ("If you can find cheaper kitty anywhere, forget about it!")

I had a similar experince watching Resevoir Dogs. Censored Tarantino is one of the truly evil things in this world.

If you're going to show a movie that has that kind of swearing and violence, don't be a pussy about it and show it uncensored, like Comedy Central does with South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut sometimes.

When I saw Die Hard: With a Vengeance on TV, they turned "motherfucker" into "melonfarmer". It was a big joke in our household for a while, to call someone a melonfarmer. We never knew they had such a bad reputation...

The worst TV censorship I saw was in a syndicated airing of Fear of a Black Hat, where they not only replaced swearwords with a variety of bizarre non-words (futhermucker, fatherbrother, etc.), they also covered over gestures (there was a lot of gesturing in this film) with a variety of cartoon characters. Nothing like having someone flip you The Donald Duck.
