Oh, sciatica. How I haven't missed you.

I remember the annoying pains, yup. And the crabbiness. Oh, yes.

The exhaustion? I'd forgotten about that. I thought the walk this morning would NEVER end. Yeesh.

The strange thing is that it's affecting a slightly different part of my body this time--instead of the painful line down my calf, it's my outer hip and, um, posterior. It's making sitting down interesting.

Feh, feh, and feh.

Blargh.

If you're ever interested (or, say, if I see you Saturday?), I can show you some sciatica-relieving positions.

Ooo, *very* interested. Part of Saturday night's going to be taken up helping at the Bizarre Bazaar, but maybe I can drop by the party afterwards.

The sciatic nerve, a little to the left of the base of my spine, is getting pinched by the muscles around it for Reasons Unknown. I blame cold weather, D thinks it's stress-related, my dog probably thinks it's karma for taking away his bone.

In the past, a combination of massage and heat treatment has caused it to go away (and muscle relaxants give immediate relief....mmmm, sweet sweet muscle relaxants), so things could be a lot worse.

Rats, that sounds annoying and painful, I hope that the pain will pass soon.

Ouch!

I can so relate to that. I can't relate to it at the moment, but yeah...

Oh, and when I had/have it, it's in the same place as you have it right now. So I know exactly where you're coming from.

Since sciatica is nerve-related, do topicals, like arnica (or it's ingested form) help?

I'm living on arnica and tylenol, right now.

I hope you feel better soon!

Arnica, you say? *writes this down*

A heating pad and massage combo was the miracle cure the first time this was diagnosed (PROPERLY diagnosed, as opposed to the adventures at the Somerville Hospital, an acupuncturist's, and a chiropractor's office), so I'm all about topical solutions.
