It's been pointed out to me that in my tally of artificial rabbits encountered over the weekend, I completely failed to mention the bunny slipper [livejournal.com profile] injust put down his pants for....but no, go to his LJ for the whole story. And tell him I said hi. ;)

This, by the way, is the best Spider-Man story I've read in a long, long time: http://www.livejournal.com/community/scans_daily/471699.html

THINGS RECENTLY FOUND ON THE STREET IN BOXES MARKED 'FREE'

*A gargantuan Mad Hatter hat made out of foamboard (score!)

*A plaster cast of someone's face (not taken because it felt creepy, frankly. It was like finding someone's shed skin.)

*A hula hoop. But not a normal hula hoop, no. This was a hoop that had somehow gotten filled with dirty water so that when you tried to use it, this shower of brown liquid sprayed out at hip-level all over the room. And by "you" I mean me, and by "the room" I mean the walls and the fishtank. I've never seen fish look AFFRONTED before.

well, hi. :) it's exceedingly strange that my costume and its down-the-pants component fits into your in-itself-pretty-strange weekend pattern. i did, in fact, nearly walk out the door with my roommate's kickboxing glove down my pants instead, but as i was walking around testing it out, my eyes turned to the closet and that bunny was calling to me. so yeah, i believe there are big forces at work here, far bigger than new england can contain.

as a bonus, there exists photographic evidence of my costume, which i continue to believe was a good idea, but just lost something in the execution. :)

I love the water-filled hula hoops, although I prefer clean water. They are a lot of fun. I used to deliberately try to fill them.

And I wouldn't have taken the plaster face either, too much of a death mask for me...

...you live in a fun-fulled world...good! Maybe the combination of hat and mask and hulahoop were part of a ceremony, and you were supposed to wear all of them, and do the hh, and then Things Would Happen beyond a little fish-huffiness...
