Terry Pratchett is coming to the Harvard Bookstore on September 16th! The day before my birthday! YAY!

Tonight was the first music rehearsal for the Pirate Faire; a smaller group than I expected, but our hearts were pure, and I got within a half-step or so of most of the notes I was going for. (Except during the round, which...well, we won't talk about that). Our music director, Gregor, sings so well that if I was the director I'd be tempted to shut everyone else up and let him do all the work. (This is probably one reason why I don't direct).

One distracting thing about him is that he's a soundalike. Swear to god. Not when he's singing, but when he's talking, his voice is exactly like John "Northern Exposure" Corbett. It's quite odd.

Speaking of odd, my Dad...but that's for a friends-only post.

Soundalikes are creepy. Sometimes I close my eyes and pretend they're someone else for a minute... but I'm a bit odd :)

Nah; I thought about it, but I didn't like the school colors. ;) It's called the Harvard Bookstore, but it's really a neighborhood bookstore that happens to be near from the campus.

Ah, c'mon, they've got a claim. :)

Oh, absolutely.

I'm just always amused by their little disclaimer that they have nothing to do with the university. :)

What? Terry? Are there tickets available? Must get him to sign Good Omens, then when I see Niel, I'll have both sigs!

Ooo, excellent idea! There don't seem to be tickets--or, if there are, they haven't put that info up on their website listing of the event yet. I wonder if they realize how mobbed they're going to be?

Thanks for the chocolate, I wanted to say! It melted into a huge blob in both cannisters, but it was still oddly good and I'd paypal for more any day!

How's Toby?

Oh dear! I'm both happy that you liked it, and totally dismayed at the condition it arrived in!

Toby's very good...he's preening right now, after what he considers a magnificent victory over a flock of Canadian geese. He even got to roll in a 'trophy', which means he'll be getting a bath very, very shortly.

TP is coming to MY little Olsson's Book and Record store two blocks from my house on Sept. 13.

Needless to say, I am skipping my night class that day.
