Arisia (Boston's SF/fantasy/general celebration of geekiness) rocked.

It rocked because watching friends excel in something is a very fun thing to do, and I got to watch [livejournal.com profile] jesshartley moderate the hell out of a panel, and [livejournal.com profile] palusbuteo, [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel and [livejournal.com profile] audioboy rock the house with their performances. Woot, I say. Woot.

I also got to play 'Encore', thus scratching any 'I want to sing in public' itch I might've been feeling--House of Red Doors & assorted folks, have you played this game? It seems custom-designed for you.

That took up my Friday night and my Sunday day. I spent Saturday at a Changeling LARP watching a character sacrifice all his magic to protect his fiancee (and the rest of Boston) on a battlefield, which was just one of those "hell yeah" moments I love about gaming...but that's a whole other topic.

It was /so/ awesome to meet you, Oakenguy! I'm sorry we didn't get more of a chance to hang out!

I'm glad you had fun,and thanks for the complement. I've never really considered "moderating the hell out of a panel", but I'm glad you thought I did! :)

I actually met several of your friends this weekend! Jason from Pandemonium says "You do realize I'm going to attempt to get you into the Boston Domain, right?" :) But an hour and a half is /far/, and last time I tried to synch up my cam-login and my ww log in, it killed both. I have no idea where to start.

Oh yes yes, Boston's much too far.

Now, there's a performance/sword troupe in Worcester, on the other hand... ;)

(It was great to meet you too! Hopefully our schedules will synch up better at the next event, whatever it is!)

She is? Neat!

I was thinking the Phoenix Swords troupe, actually. But there's a lot of crossover between the two groups.

Yes- I frequently feel the need to sing, but no one wants to cast me in musicals!

I think I need to either produce my own or just go play Encore.

There used to be an awesome piano bar called Napolean's but sadly they closed down a few years ago.

Hmm...what musical would you produce? A non-puppet version of 'Avenue Q' would be fun and meta, but I bet the price of the rights would be hellacious.

Dude! You were at Chicken Heart? Did I actually say hi to you and subsequently forget, or did we pass once more like two ships in the night?

Ha! More like two ships with several hundred other ships in between us all trying to bob around the same buoy, but yes.

Sorry I missed you, but then you probably weren't hanging out in Fast Track too much.

So close and so far...what I saw of it (glimpses of the face painting and the morris dancing), I was very impressed by!

Thanks for comin to the program, glad you enjoyed it. It was cool having a friend/co-consiprator in the audience other than the people I was demo-ing with the whole weekend, it was a nice surpirse.

The LARP'ing thing - did you see the Boffer stuff on Sat / Sun morning? And did it make you giggle? Silly Bofferheads. :D

I caught a bit of the Sunday morning boffing (heh), and oh oh oh...it's hard to dress up like a rabbit and look stylish. It's hard to boffer fight and look stylish. Combining the two? Wow. Just....wow.
